Hope

A couple of years ago I was considering re-branding.  I set up my business in 2015 and felt my website and logo no longer reflected what I offered to clients.  I couldn’t visualise what it needed to look like at that time and whatever ideas I came up with weren’t flowing.  I know now, that was because it wasn’t the right time for it to happen.  Life was throwing challenges at me at that time and my energy was being channelled into staying ‘present’ and keeping balance in my life, rather than being future-focussed.

I decided at the beginning of the year that 2020 was definitely going to be the re-branding year and I wrote this blog to introduce my logo before the Coronavirus took hold and brought huge changes and huge challenges to the world.  I have made some additions to it since I first wrote it.

2020 is already proving itself to be a year where we all have to take some big steps into unchartered territory.  In a world where we can’t ‘go outside’ it is likely to be a time where people ‘go inside’ and reflect on what is actually important in their lives.  Who are they?  What lights them up?  What lights the world up and how can they contribute to that?

Having built some foundations over the last couple of years, it actually feels like the right time for me to put some clear intentions out there and launch my new brand representing what I can offer and how I do it, together with a clear understanding of why.

In a previous blog I talked about learning to tune into our intuition, listen to our heart and deconstruct the unhelpful stories we might have learned to believe about ourselves in order to ‘show up’ and be seen for who we really are.

“The natural state of the human being is to be fully expressed without doubt or fear to perform, grow and enjoy”.
Myles Downey

I believe that you can’t take a client somewhere you haven’t been yourself.  I believe you can’t support a client to be vulnerable and show the deepest, darkest parts of themselves (which they might have hidden most of their life for fear of not feeling worthy), if you haven’t yourself unearthed your own darkness and started the journey of accepting your whole self.

To this end I’m very excited to reveal my brand new logo which reflects what I now offer.  See image above.

The design is based on the shape of a Poppy, which to me represents hope; something which feels incredibly poignant at the moment.  When we have so little control over so many things in the world, it is so important to hold onto HOPE.

I’ve always loved the symbolism of poppies and how fragile they are on their own but how beautiful, powerful and so full of hope they are, when they stand together; just like people.  Again, there are so many examples of people uniting in whatever way they can in the world at the moment.

Human beings are wired to connect with each other; we have fundamental emotional needs to belong to something bigger than ourselves and, when we authentically connect with others, we can achieve great things together.  In a coaching relationship, when a client feels safe to be themselves and supported and challenged to achieve their goals, it is a powerful combination full of hope.

Anyone who knows me will know my love of colour.  As my “Re-writing the Story” blog above eludes to, despite feeling like I’ve spent half my life hiding and not necessarily being heard, I have always loved to wear bright colours; an unconscious desire to be seen, maybe, but most definitely a conscious desire to express myself.

The different colour petals on my Poppy logo represent how important it is to fully express ourselves in a healthy way so we are not suppressing or internalising emotion or projecting anger or blame onto others, which could ultimately show up in our bodies as dis-ease.

The purple centre of the Poppy to me represents the sense of joy and peace experienced when we have a clear understanding and acceptance of all our strengths and weaknesses.  When we can listen to our intuition, access a state of Flow, and follow our heart, we ultimately attract more positive experiences into our lives.

Look out for my colourful re-branded website, coming soon!

Much love x
