I remember the first day of my Equine Facilitated Coach training with Sarah Ilaria North and Learning to Listen. As part of our introductions we were tasked with asking each other questions (avoiding the usual superficial “what do you DO” type questions), to get to know each other. Two of those questions really stuck with me; “Who are you and why are you here?” and “Who are you and who are you that’s more than that?”
Those questions, of course, could be taken at a superficial level. My name is Sarah and I’m here to train to be an Equine Facilitated Coach. Or they could be taken at a much deeper level, asking what is my identity and why have I been put on this planet? Who am I that is more than Sarah Veall?
I massively deepened my coaching practice as a result of my training and learned to listen to my intuition much more and to work with what is going on at an unconscious level for myself and for clients. Still work in progress that one, as it probably always will be :). There’s always more to learn. Good job one of my core values is a love of learning.
So having recently listened to the little voice in my head that said I needed to read the Celestine Prophecy, it didn’t feel at all like a coincidence that the messages in the book were what I believe I needed to hear. Maybe they are useful to others too?
If you haven’t read it, I will aim to summarise it here. Some of this text is taken directly from the book so I thank you, James Redfield, for your wisdom and insights and hope you won’t be suing me for plagiarism!
In the Middles Ages, society’s reality was that God had a plan for mankind. The churchmen interpreted the scriptures for you and if you followed their instructions you were guaranteed an afterlife.
“In the 14th or 15th centuries, the idea about the nature of the universe and mankind’s purpose based on churchmen’s description was collapsing. Explorers were sent out to bring back explanations of our existence but because of the complexity of the universe they weren’t able to do it quickly. We learned to manipulate the world for our own benefit and so worked to raise our standard of living and our sense of security. We focussed on creating a secular security; an economic security to replace the spiritual one we had lost. The question of why we were alive and what was going on spiritually was slowly pushed aside and repressed.
We still don’t know what we are surviving for!”
The book highlights that “everything that occurs in nature does so according to a natural law, that each event has a direct physical cause. The health of each of the parts, impacts the health of the whole. That we should look at plants as total energy systems and everything they need to flourish – soil, nutrients, moisture, light. The total ecosystem around each plant is one living system”.
It prophesises that “eventually humans would see the universe as comprised of one dynamic energy that can sustain us and respond to our expectations. And we would also see that we have been disconnected from the larger source of this energy that we have cut ourselves off from, and have therefore felt weak and insecure and lacking. In the face of this deficit we have sought to increase our personal energy by seeking to psychologically steal it from others; an unconscious competition that underlies all human conflict in the world.”
The book takes us on a journey with the main character to discover a series of hidden insights; starting with noticing where coincidences are occurring in our lives, making us feel like there is something more operating underneath what we do, and becoming aware of how the world has become focussed on material survival and controlling our lives for security.
It shares the Quantum Physics view that our physical universe is pure energy; energy that responds to how we think, and when we consciously ‘fill up’ with energy we can bring on the coincidences and listen to our intuition.
It suggests that when we feel low in energy or cut off from ‘source’, the human tendency is to steal energy from others by controlling them. However, when we become aware of the ways we’ve learned to use as our ‘control dramas,’ to steal others energy, we can learn to heal them (move them into consciousness) and we can then learn to stay connected to this source energy.
It further suggests we can learn to tap into our intuition and ask the questions we need answers to in life and be open to the messages we might receive. We can also help other people send the messages they need to send us (through coincidences) by sending energy into them and helping them see their worth and their truth.
The conclusions that the Author comes to in the book are that mankind is on this planet to consciously evolve. As we learn to evolve and pursue our particular path and truth he prophesises that the world will transform and people will realise they are in the wrong jobs, things will be automated to make the economy run more efficiently and automation will free up people’s time to pursue other endeavours. Endeavours that make the world a better place for our present and future generations.
This is the Author’s interpretation of reality but, in the current worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, forcing us to ‘go inside,’ this feels very true to me.
- How are you taking responsibility for understanding and owning your learned patterns of thinking and behaving? Are they helpful to you and others? Where might you be ‘stealing’ others’ energy rather than tapping into your own source?
- What stories are you attached to about who you are and where you fit in the world? Are they helpful to you and others?
- How are you helping others see their worth and their truth?
- How are you taking responsibility for being mindful of your vibration and what you are attracting into your life? What are you giving off and, therefore, attracting?
“The health of each of the parts, impacts the health of the whole”. We are one living system and everything we do impacts the “whole”.
